The best way to avoid Yo-Yo'ing is to make sure you have the WHOLE TRUTH about weight loss and dieting. Most, if not all, plans other than my own, only give you partial truth.
Thier plans are successful in the short term, giving you the illusion that you've succeeded, then the dreaded Yo-Yo monster comes calling and you end up putting on the weight you lost and then some.
