Why can't I lose weight with laxatives?

You can lose weight with laxatives, but you're asking for a load of trouble.

1. It's dangerous as you lose electrolytes and if they unbalanced enough, you can have heart failure. A few famous bodybuilders died that way.

2. Anything you can gain fast, you can lose fast. So if you drop weight fast (which you will as you will be losing mostly water weight), you gain right back after you stop the laxatives.

3. If you take them long enough, your body will begin to rely on them and you won't be able to do #2 without them.
