Diets Stop Now

With over 20+ years in the fitness and weight loss industry as a personal trainer and health club manager, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but for the largest percentage of the population that vowed to make this year their weight loss year… they have about 20 days left before they completely give up and go back to the way there were before they made a try at weight loss.

It’s sad really.

However, I guess it’s really true, you can’t just “try” to do anything, you have to want it enough to say, “I’ll do whatever it takes…” and if you can’t say that, chances are you are not going to get what it is that you “say” you want.

So if you are one of those who are begining to make excuses for your quitting, or feeling sorry for yourself because you’ve been through such hard times trying to lose weight… Well, it’s time to “do whatever it takes” or get comfortable with a fatter, more pudgy, out of shape, out of energy, person that you love to be.

It’s time to admit you love the food more than you love the health, energy, or good looks of a leaner you. Just walk over to the mirror and look yourself in the eye (don’t look at me, this is not about me, this is about you) and tell yourself how you “can’t do it” or how “it’s too hard” or it’s making you feel bad…etc,. etc, etc…, then take your clothes off (you’re all alone) and come to grips with the fact that you don’t really want to change. Proof is in the pudding, or actions speak louder than words…. stop lying to yourself that you want to lose weight. If you quit now (again, probably) you do NOT want to lose weight, or at least not as much as YOU LOVE your junk food, poor eating habits.etc…

It’s just time to get honest.

Maybe, just maybe, you’ll be one of the few, one of the proud, (no not Marines…lol) but one of the few who actually discipline themselves enough to reach their goal. It’s not for everyone, only the winners. Do you want to win? Do you want to have the body you dream about? Then DO NOT QUIT!!!!!

Keep on keeping on!

Kevin Mask

Fiber For Weight Loss

[ Originally sent to my subscriber list - so when you see reference to "my list" you'll know what I'm talking about ]

I was just thinking about something last night and though I should probably share it with you…

As you know (since you read my ebook) one of the most important aspects of weight loss (fat loss) is keeping your intestinal muscles moving. That 28 feet of muscle burns a lot of calories, which is why you need to make it work by eating frequently (smaller meals)…

However, I realized that a lot of people are like me and don’t like to eat at all. I don’t know if I would even eat if I didn’t have to. If you’re like me, as soon as you get bored with the flavor your appetite goes down immediately.

So how can people like me keep our intestines moving, so we can keep the fat machine burning, without eating or putting more calories into the tank?

Fiber. Yep, that’s right. A little psyllium several times a day (with LOTS of water) and those intestinal muscles will be working like a hive of busy bees… which will lead to calories burned and fat lost.

How much does this cost me Kevin??

LOL… I’m not selling anything… how many times have I sold anything to those on my subscriber list… I’ll only sell something I think you might actually find value in and want.

Anyway, psyllium is available in your local health food store, but I buy metamucil from the grocery store!

I got the weight loss idea because I needed to take psyllium for an intestinal problem I got way back when I was bodybuilding. As a bodybuilder, in order to gain muscle mass, you have to force calories in. I remember sitting at work with a bag of tuna, cottage cheese, and pinapple and it was about 10,000 calories worth and I had to have it finished before the day was over.

With all my lifting, I didn’t get fat, and I did gain a lot of muscle, but I also ended up at the doctors office complaining that I was bloated and hungry but whenever I ate so much as a potato chip, I was immediately full.

She checked me out and let me know that I was the first person she had ever seen who had manage to not only fill their intestines completely from stomach to exit, but I had also stretched out the intestinal walls as well, so they stopped squeezing. Food wasn’t moving at all unless I ate something and literally pushed it out.

She told me I would have intestinal problems the rest of my life and put me on a strict fiber three times a day regime to get my intestines moving again.
Anyway… today, whenever I eat a meal that is too big it stretches my intestines out and things stop working… it was my birthday recently and I love sushi and ate too much… enter metamucil.

I just started taking metamucil several times a day and just got into a habit since I take protien shakes and workout still (yes at 46 yrs old, I was mistaken for 34 yrs old in my jiu jitsu class icon wink Fiber For Weight Loss The guy made me prove my age with my drivers license!)…

So I have been taking the fiber for a little over a week straight, several times a day and I noticed my abs are getting more defined and I’m dropping fat… I thought it over and realized it makes perfect sense.

And since no one in America gets enough fiber anyway… I figured I’d let you all in on it so you could give it a try and let me know how it works for you.

**WARNING: If you have a fiber deficient diet and you start slamming down metamucil or any other psyllium product, you are gong to get diahreah for sure. So START SLOW, just a little bit at first, maybe once a day for the first few days….

Top 3 Reasons People Don’t Lose Weight

I was thinking about what really gets in the way of weight loss for most people and it boils down to two things really…you could say three, but let me explain…

1. Over-dieting, or over-restricting calorie intake for a prolonged period of time.
2. Hormonal imbalance (estrogen dominance and or low thyroid).
3. Self-Deprecation (beating yourself up).

Ok, so beating yourself up, well that is pretty self-explanatory as well. If you keep telling yourself you are a fat loser, well, guess what you will become? Words are powerful, so be careful how you use them.

#1- Now, over dieting, that is, in my professional opinion, THE MOST COMMON mistake made in the whole world of weight loss.. I can’t tell you how many clients I have had to FORCE FEED (not literally…ha ha ha ha) to get them to lose weight.

Some clients believe in low calories so much, they LIE to me about eating more…I ask them did you eat thus and such and they tell me “oh yes…I ate all you told me too”… But I KNOW they are lying! Do you know how I know?

After all the years I’ve been doing this, I’ve developed some very good body language reading and intuition about people. I can look at a client and tell you if they have gained or lost 5 lbs…(that may not seem like much, until you try it) and I’m right over 90% of the time.

So after they tell me they are eating more… I look them over and immediately see they are not telling the truth, because IF they do what I say, THEY DO lose weight, their skin looks a little different, they have a little more energy, they don’t look like they are holding as much water….etc… All these little clues all paint a clear picture to the trained eye.

So what’s the point?

The point is that over-dieting puts your body into starvation mode and can begin in as little as 5-8 hours from your last meal.

When you’re body goes into starvation mode, it lowers all metabolic activity, which includes FAT METABOLISM…and if you are trying to lose weight, lowering FAT METABOLISM is NOT something you want.

#2 - The next thing is a little more tricky – Hormone Imbalance…

If you’re a man, and you’re over 35, you need to check your testosterone levels, they drop with age, stress, and as you gain fat, and it’s a vicious circle, because the more fat you get, the less testosterone you make and the less testosterone you make, the more fat you get….

For women, it’s a little more complicated, but simple hormone tests can reveal a lot, especially if you have them interpreted by a Hormone Replacement Specialist Doctor – as they have CURRENT training in this area, whereas regular doctors do not so they just give you a confident answer that is usually just what you could have read on the test results yourself.

So what’s the point?

The point is that if your estrogen is high and progesterone low or testosterone low (yes even for women) you are going to have a harder time losing weight EVEN IF YOU DO EVERYTHING RIGHT! I can’t tell you how many female clients have felt like they FINALLY found the answer they were looking for with a simple hormone blood test and a qualified hormone replacement doctor (H.R.T. doctor).

Can you imagine..you’ve been doing everything right and the weight just doesn’t come off, then you find out that your hormones have been holding you off for YEARS! All that WASTED EFFORT…argggggghhhhh I bet you would be angry if you weren’t so happy to finally have the answer.

The other part of hormone imbalance can be male or female related, but generally is more female related and that is low thyroid hormone.

You’re thyroid hormone is basically your bodies natural stimulant and “get going” hormone and when you DIET TOO HARD you can really mess it up. Also STRESS can really mess it up.

By the way, hard dieting IS STRESSFUL to the body…

Anyway, get your thyroid hormone levels checked at the same time you check your estrogen (estradiol) and testosterone and you will be well on your way to tearing down all that blocks your way to weight loss success.

#3 - Self-Deprecation

No one will ever admit openly that this could be a major problem (and not just weight loss), but believe me, in all my years of training clients, it is present in 99% of women and about 75% of men. Probably 99% men too, but they are usually less vocal about their feelings.

Saying things to yourself like “I just can’t do it”, “I’ve always failed at this”, “I’m just not like ‘those’ other people, the beautiful people”… and worse, “I’m a loser”, “I never win”, “I am just unlucky”…etc., etc, etc… You get the point.

Words matter and there has been a lot of research done to prove that what goes in your brain changes you, wether you believe it or not. What I mean is that you can read a book you totally disagree with, but it will still bend you just a little bit in it’s direction… so if you keep reading a certain type of material, after a while, you will start to agree with it… That is what PROPAGANDA is based on. Hear something enough and first it becomes familiar, then it becomes believable, then you believe it!

Maybe your parents told you something about yourself, or maybe you just started thinking or saying negative things to yourself early on… now after a life time of repeating it, well, is it any wonder you believe it? No it’s not. It is totally logical.

So start today, thinking and saying good, kind, positive things to yourself and don’t be surprised if when you first start doing it, it is as uncomfortable as it was to hear those negative things about you the first time you started hearing them.

My Mini Weight Loss Lecture

I actually just got done writing this letter to my sister for her boyfriend and after I finished it, I thought, you know… a lot of people need to read this. So here it is:

——————————–

When I was training clients a lot, I used to give them this little mini speech, but I used it with myself as well. I learned it’s core message  in Al-anon from my sponsor.

It goes like this face to face:

Me: So are you willing to go to any lengths to achieve your goal of a lean, fit body?

Client: Absolutely (It’s funny, they always say that and they don’t even know what is going to require of them at this point).

Me: Really? Any lengths?

Client: yes, absolutely. I want this sooooooooo bad, I’ll do whatever it takes!

Me: {I tell them how to do it, just like I did in my last email to you. Super simple, eat 4-6 times a day, only to stop the hunger, no more, ramp up your protein massively, [ even more important if you lift weights or even do a lot of cardio ].

Client: Oh, yeah, man I am all over it. I am gonna do this thing!

————————————- weeks go by, they workout regularly, but they are not shedding the pounds ——————

Client: man this just isn’t working. I thought you told me if I did what you said it would work?!

Me: { I already know it works, so I know they did NOT do what I said, so I have to now grill them to get them to admit they did NOT follow through, which they ALWAYS DO. }

There is usually silence and I can see they are already giving up in their minds.

Me: Remember when you said you were willing to go to any lengths to achieve this goal?

Client: Yes.

Me: Well, next time you are getting ready to eat the second half of your sandwich when you are suppoed to be stopping (this is the hardest part), remember how you told me you are willing to go to any length. If you are not even willing to give up half a sandwich, you really aren’t willing to go to ANY lengths to do this, so stop fooling yourself. The first requirement to achieve any goal is honesty with yourself. The second part is to come up with an HONEST plan that you ARE willing to commit to with tenacity. All goals require sacrifice, ALL goals. So if you are not willing to sacrifice some eating pleasure, you really don’t want this, you just want to want it. There is a big difference between wanting something and wanting to want to something. If you want something, you do what it takes, if you just want to want it, you are not willing to lift a finger to get it and you will never get it.

The world is filled with those who just want to want. They have nothing but regrets. Those who really want things, get them and are generally very satisfied. Don’t answer this to me, but which kind are you?

———————————————–

97% of all clients quit shortly after and remain in their fat state permanently. 3% make the commitment and get the results and their lives are changed forever, not just body transformation, but they finally see what it takes to achieve and they apply it in other areas of their lives.

I Get So Bored With Weight Loss

Ok, look, I’ve been in the health and fitness industry for SOOOOO long. I mean after a while you’ve seen it all, heard it all.

Yes, new products come out every now and again that are game changers…i.e., creatine, glutamine, beta-alanine, ephedra…etc..

But for the most part, it’s really just a drum beat no one wants to dance to anymore, thanks in part to ULTRA-HYPED up marketing.

I mean you know what the honest truth is…? People want to take a pill, eat like crap and lose weight and be healthy…. oh and add a super hot body to that while you’re at it.

I mean does that even jib with ANYTHING else in life? Is there ANYTHING in life that comes that easy? When that pill comes to market, it’s over. We will all be sucked up into cosmic dust…but don’t worry, because it is NEVER going to happen.

Here is the MAGIC SECRET: Weight loss is like happiness. If you seek happiness, you will never find it, because happiness is not a noun, it is an adjective or adverb….happiness is a result of right living. If you live right, treat others well…etc… you are going to be happy. end of story. If you are doing things you shouldn’t, treating people bad…etc, you are going to be unhappy, end of story.

Well, weight loss is the same…If you eat twice a day, I can pretty much guarantee you will gain weight.

Sure, I’ve written a book that outlines the absolute EASIEST way to TRULY lose weight, but you know what. It can’t compete with the fake pill, or the hook up your abs to a machine that flexes your abs for you….pure pipe dream….but since when can reality compete with a dream.

If you want real weight loss, sign up for my free newsletter and buy my ebook.

Otherwise, you’re just trading reality for a dream… isn’t that what drug addicts do?
